Recital FAQs - 2010

This recital has already occured. Updated information for the 2011 Recital will be posted as it becomes available.

Q. Do I need to be there at 8:45 on Monday morning in order to get good seats?

A. No. If you want to sit in the front row center, you should come at 8:45. If you want to sit in the front half in the center, you should probably come sometime within the first day or two. In general, the longer you wait, the harder it will be to sit large groups together and the farther from the front and center you will likely be. In the past we have always come within a few seats of selling out and the vast majority of the tickets are sold within the first week so don't wait around too long but you don't need to line up the night before or anything.

Q. Does my baby need a ticket?

A. Any child who can stay in your lap does not need a ticket. If you want the option of having a toddler sit in their own seat or having a seat to put a baby carrier on, you will need to buy a ticket for that seat.

Q. What if I'm out of town the week tickets go on sale?

A. Try to have a friend who's in your class or a relative who's in the area and coming to the show come pick them up for you. If that's absolutely not possible, let the desk know ahead of time and we will make sure you get tickets.

Q.Where is James Madison High School?

A. In Vienna (near Art Stone Dancewear in the Pan Am Shopping Center for anyone who has been there).

Q. Why is it so far away?

A. Two of the main auditoriums in Arlington are going to be under construction this spring so not only are those two not available, but the remaining Arlington school auditoriums are more booked up than usual because of it with school events that take precedence over outside events. Also because we need so much seating, our options are somewhat limited so sometimes we have to go a little farther out than we would like.

Q. What happens if we plan to be in the recital but then find out we have to move or have something else come up months from now that prohibits us from participating in the recital?

A. We understand that once in a while, this sort of thing comes up unexpectedly. Please just let us know a.s.a.p. so appropriate adjustments can be made to class choreography. Costumes are non-refundable once ordered but we will make sure you still get your costume. Any other recital-related purchases such as pre-ordered DVDs or t-shirts can usually be cancelled and refunded if necessary.
